Scientific Study
Scientific study
➢ Scientific study :- Scientific study is the planned and organized way of study which is based on scientific facts, principles, scientific models, experiments and physical states.➢ Variable :- The factors, traits on conditions that can modified and measured during an experiment is called variables.
➢ Types of variables:-
(1) Independent variable
(2) Dependent variable
(3) Controlled variable
➢ Independent variable :- The variable that can be changed during an experiment by scientists or researchers is called independent variables.
➢ Dependent variable :- The variable which depends upon the change in independent variable and cannot determine directly by scientist is called dependent variable.
➢ Controlled variable :- The variable which is kept constant during an experiment by researchers is called controlled variable.
➢ Physical quantities:- The quantities which can be measured are called physical quantities.
➢Fundamental units :- The units which do not depends upon other units is called fundamental unit.
➢Derived units :- The units which depends upon fundamental units or other units is called derived units.
➢SI units of physical quantities :-
Physical quantities | SI units |
---|---|
Length | meter(m) |
Mass | kilogram (kg) |
Time | second(s) |
Temperature | kelvin(K) |
Electric current | ampere(A) |
Amount of substance | mole(mol.) |
Luminous intensity | candela(cd) |
➢ Unit-wise analysis of equations :- We can get various formulae and equations as a result of the conclusions of scientific learning. We can check the homogeneity and validity by analyzing th units of physical quantities.
